What we treat

Share your concern. We'll take it from there.

Online dermatology works best for the things you can see — and for ongoing prescriptions you already rely on. Choose a starting point below; you can always add more concerns in your visit.

Hair + scalp care

Hair loss

Oral and topical minoxidil, finasteride, dutasteride, spironolactone. Personalized regimens for thinning crowns, receding hairlines, postpartum shedding, and traction alopecia — for men and women.

  • Oral minoxidil + finasteride combinations
  • Topical compounded formulations
  • Female-pattern hair loss protocols
  • Progress photos every 90 days

Rashes & visual conditions

When something new appears on your skin, online dermatology review is often faster — and more accurate — than describing it over the phone. Contact dermatitis, hives, fungal infections, suspicious spots.

Acne

Tretinoin, adapalene, clindamycin, spironolactone. Plans built for adult, hormonal, and stubborn cystic acne — not the same template you got at 16. Note: isotretinoin (Accutane) cannot be prescribed via DocBright due to the level of management required.

Eczema

Prescription steroid and non-steroid options, barrier-repair routines, and flare-prevention plans. We'll look at the photos and prescribe a plan that actually fits your skin.

Rosacea

Topical metronidazole, ivermectin, azelaic acid; oral options for persistent flushing. Triggers vary — your plan should too.

Shaving bumps · PFB

Pseudofolliculitis barbae, ingrown hairs, post-shave irritation. Topical retinoids, mild exfoliants, and a routine that doesn't require giving up shaving. Employer shaving waivers issued when medically necessary.

Prescription refills

Already on tretinoin, finasteride, doxycycline, spironolactone, or another dermatology prescription? Send a quick check-in and we'll renew it — no in-person visit required in most cases.

Shaving waiver

Online evaluation for an employer shaving waiver (no-shave letter) when pseudofolliculitis barbae or razor bumps make daily shaving medically inadvisable.

What DocBright is great for: visible skin, hair, and nail concerns, including hair loss, rashes, acne, eczema, rosacea, shaving bumps, and ongoing prescriptions. When you need in-person care: rapidly spreading rashes, suspected skin cancer that needs biopsy, or anything we judge to be unsafe to treat remotely. If your condition cannot be properly assessed online, we will tell you and refund your visit fee.

Prescriptions may be written for up to 6 months when medically appropriate. A paid follow-up visit is required at least every 6 months for ongoing prescription treatment.

Patient stories

What patients tell us, in their own words.

★★★★★ 5.0
I'd been losing hair at the crown for a year and kept putting off a derm visit. DocBright wrote me an oral minoxidil + finasteride plan in eight hours. Six months in, the photos are night and day.

My toddler had a rash spreading across his stomach on a Sunday night. I sent photos at 9 PM and had a prescription waiting at our pharmacy by lunch Monday. That's what healthcare should feel like.
Mariana O.Rash · Chicago, IL

Adult acne is humiliating to talk about. Being able to upload photos and get a real plan — tretinoin, spironolactone, a routine — without sitting in a waiting room changed how I felt about treating it.

FAQ

The questions we get most.

Don't see yours? Email us — a real human responds within a few hours.

Is online dermatology as good as an in-person visit?

For many visible conditions we treat, including hair loss, rashes, acne, eczema, rosacea, and shaving bumps, clear photos plus a thorough medical history give your dermatologist what they need to evaluate your concern. When something needs in-person care, such as suspected skin cancer, a severe infection, or a possible biopsy, we will tell you. If we cannot provide any first-line impression, or your condition is not suitable for review via DocBright, we will refund your visit.

Do you treat hair loss in men?

Yes. Male-pattern hair loss at the crown, vertex, or mid-scalp, receding hairlines, and stalled topical routines are among the most common cases we see. Plans may include finasteride, low-dose oral minoxidil, topical minoxidil, dutasteride, or compounded formulations when appropriate.

Do you treat hair loss in women?

Yes. Female-pattern hair loss, postpartum shedding, and traction alopecia are among the most common cases we see. Plans may include topical or low-dose oral minoxidil, spironolactone, and a workup for underlying causes when appropriate.

Can you prescribe oral minoxidil and finasteride?

Yes — when clinically appropriate. Our dermatologists evaluate your history, contraindications, and goals before writing any prescription. We also discuss side effects honestly so you can make an informed decision.

How fast will I get a treatment plan?

We promise turnaround is under 24 hours, or 12 hours if you choose a priority visit. Most visits are reviewed the same day they're submitted, and many within just a few hours.

What if my rash needs urgent care?

If your photos or history suggest something time-sensitive — a rapidly spreading infection, an allergic reaction with breathing changes, signs of skin cancer — we'll direct you to in-person care immediately and refund your visit.

Do you take insurance?

Visits are a flat $59 submission fee — often less than many insurance copays. DocBright does not bill insurance for the online visit, but patients can use insurance for many prescriptions filled at the pharmacy and may be able to submit their visit receipt for HSA/FSA reimbursement.

Where is DocBright available?

DocBright is currently available in all 50 states. Your case is routed for appropriate dermatologist review based on your location at the time of submission and the concern you submit.

Is my information private?

DocBright is HIPAA-compliant and LegitScript certified. Photos and history are encrypted in transit and at rest, visible only to your care team.

Whatever it is, let's take a look.

Send your first photos in a few minutes. A board-certified dermatologist will review them and write you a plan, usually before tomorrow.
